FOEL STUDIO
Foel Studio

Foel Studio is a beautiful residential recording studio nestled in the heart of the idyllic Welsh countryside.

Situated on the side of a beautifully secluded valley, the studio combines a stunning location with the best of digital and classic analogue gear.  The complex comprises the recording studio itself and two residential cottages, located about 15 miles from the mid-Wales border town of Welshpool in Llanfair Caereinion.

Established in 1974, Foel studio has progressed from humble 8-track beginnings to the current combination of vintage Trident Series 80B console, Genelec 5.1 surround sound system and a state of the art digital ProTools HD3 Accel.

The Recording Studio has natural light and stunning views over the unspoilt Powys countryside. Foel has a fully-equipped control room, with high-end vintage and modern outboard equipment, masses of software plug-ins, and fully self-contained support facilities.

The Musicians Quarters in an adjacent 17th century cottage, include a producer’s suite, 4 bedrooms, bathroom, living room with plasma satellite tv, wi-fi and pool table, plus full self-catering facilities in the large kitchen.  The accommodation creates a comfortable home from home for bands and producers alike.

The studio is owned and run by bassist Dave Anderson (ex Hawkwind and Amon Duul II), and has hosted numerous artists and producers including The Stranglers, Gong, My Bloody Valentine, John Foxx, James, Scritti Politti, Raging Speedhorn, Chris Tsangarides, Russ Russell, Phil Vinall, Alan Parsons, Larry Hibbitt, Mark Coyle, and Tony Platt, to name a few.

Due to a combination of the studio's unique recording history, beautiful residential location and superior aesthetics, clients experience a relaxed, thoughtful and creative atmosphere to work in. Built by musicians, for musicians.
