MYLES CLARKE
Producer Mixer Programmer Engineer Songwriter Musician
Myles originally trained at the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts, and began his engineering career in the late 90s at Cocteau Twins’ September Sound Studios, then Metropolis Studios in west London. He was then in-house at Strongroom Studios until becoming freelance in 2002.
From his own east London studio he spent several years writing and programming for various producers, music libraries and tv ads. During this time Myles also worked with Martyn Ware and Vince Clarke on their infamous Surround Sound Art Installations.
Following sessions with Rachel Fuller at Oceanic Studio, owner Pete Townshend asked Myles to stay on as chief engineer where he worked with Rachel, Billy Nicholls, Casbah Club, Echo Strings and Mikey Cuthbert before taking over the running of the Grand Cru barge studio in her new location moored at St Katherine Docks, central London.
Myles has engineered and mixed for both Pete and The Who in recent years, notably on Now And Then, Endless Wire, Wire & Glass, the recent box set reissues of Tommy and Quadrophenia and the recent recording of Classic Quadrophenia.
